Former Cooley partner Elizabeth Prelogar, now the U.S. Justice Department’s acting solicitor general, reported earning more than $2 million in partnership income last year from the law firm, where she advised major technology and social media clients, including Twitter, Uber and Facebook, according to a financial disclosure she filed after joining the Biden administration.

Prelogar had been a litigation partner at Cooley in Washington for a year before leaving to rejoin the Justice Department in January. From 2014 to 2019, Prelogar was a Justice Department lawyer focusing on Supreme Court matters and, for a two-year stint, the special counsel’s investigation on Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Prelogar, fluent in Russian, earlier was an associate at Hogan Lovells.
