Shook, Hardy & Bacon acquired a virtual firm to build out its IP and technology transactions expertise, but firm leaders say the onboarding attorneys could also help the firm transition to the post-pandemic realities of remote work.

Virtual law firm Ragen Swan is merging with Shook Hardy’s Seattle office, and firm principal and founder Amy Levin Ragen will chair the firm’s new technology transactions practice group. Every member of Ragen Swan, including fellow principal Kevin Swan, four attorneys—three of which are former Microsoft in-house attorneys—and six paralegals, will be joining the Kansas City, Missouri-based firm.
