It’s likely not too often that an opposing party in litigation involving Big Law powerhouses writes the press release for a piece of data that could obviously strengthen the case against them.

On May 14, the University of California’s attorneys from Munger, Tolles & Olson finalized a settlement retiring the use of SAT and ACT scores in its admissions and scholarship processes after students, nonprofits and the Compton Unified School District claimed that its testing policy was discriminatory against students of color and applicants from low-income backgrounds.
