A Kirkland & Ellis team capped a three-week trade secrets trial in Oakland federal court Tuesday with a demand for $16 million in lost profits—and another $85 million in punitive damages.

Kirkland partner Michael De Vries made the ask on behalf LivePerson Inc., an intelligent chat platform that accuses competitor [24]7.ai of stealing rules and data while the two companies were jointly serving three large institutional clients.
