A good indication that discovery and settlement discussions aren’t going so well is when the judge overseeing the case expresses dread for the parties’ next appearance.

Ahead of a virtual hearing Thursday in the proposed privacy class action stemming from Facebook’s Cambridge Analytica scandal, U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria told an attorney in a separate matter who was struggling to find a case citation, to “Take your time. My next case is the Facebook case, and I’m trying to put that off as long as possible.”
