JRK Property Holdings, a Los Angeles-based real estate holding company, was sued by dozens of insurers Tuesday in California Central District Court. The suit, which seeks declaratory relief that the insurers are not obligated to provide coverage for business losses arising from COVID-19, is backed by law firms including Phelps Dunbar; Dentons; Dickinson Wright; Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath; and Robins Kaplan. The suit also accuses the defendant of forum shopping by filing its original complaint in Virginia federal court. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:21-cv-05287, General Star Indemnity Company et al. v. JRK Property Holdings, Inc.
