Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison partner Randall S. Luskey has entered an appearance for Uber and Raiser LLC in a lawsuit on behalf of women who claim to have been sexually assaulted by Uber drivers. The suit, which brings negligent hiring, failure to warn, misrepresentation and vicarious liability claims, contends that Uber was aware or should have been aware that some drivers would assault or otherwise harm passengers and has not taken steps to improve its safety procedures. The action was filed June 2 in California Northern District Court by Levin Simes Abrams. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas S. Hixson, is 3:21-cv-04194, Jane Doe Lsa 3 et al v.
