Epic Games, publisher of Fortnite and other popular video games, was slapped with a trademark lawsuit Monday in California Northern District Court by the maker of mixed reality gaming glasses. The lawsuit, filed by Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe on behalf of China's Nreal Technology Ltd., Nreal Inc. and parent company Shenzhen Tairuo Technology Co. Ltd., centers on similarities between the defendants' Nreal brand and Epic's 'Unreal' marks. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 3:21-cv-05537, Nreal Technology Ltd. et al v. Epic Games Inc.
