A federal judge in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday said that a defamation lawsuit from Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) against the Washington Post and one of its reporters can move forward.
Nunes sued the newspaper last year over an article by reporter Ellen Nakashima that included a statement about the lawmaker believing that Obama administration officials spied on Trump Tower in 2016, which was later corrected. The Republican also took issue with the newspaper stating that Nunes made a “midnight run” to the Trump White House in 2017, during which he reportedly viewed intelligence filings.
