Baker & Hostetler is facing a legal malpractice suit in California federal court, in which a former client alleged the firm failed to provide competent guidance on issuance of stock and engaged in a pattern of unethical billing practices.

The complaint was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, by Verb Technology, which trades on the Nasdaq with a $132 million market capitalization. The case was removed Wednesday to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and surfaced by Law.com Radar.
