Vinson & Elkins filed a tax lawsuit against the U.S. government Thursday in California Eastern District Court on behalf of Kevin Kalkhoven, former CEO of pioneering telecommunications company JDS Uniphase. The complaint seeks de novo review of a jeopardy assessment filed against Kalkhoven accusing him of concealing assets by operating his business interests through special-purpose entities. The case is 2:21-cv-01440, Kalkhoven v. United States of America.
