Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe is launching a new office in Singapore a year after shuttering its Hong Kong outfit.

Jonathan Thursby, who joined Orrick in November, will be the firm’s first Singapore partner. He had been on secondment at Blueleaf Energy, a subsidiary of Macquarie Capital, since joining Orrick. Thursby was most recently a partner at the Singapore office of Watson Farley & Williams, where he had practiced for more than seven years. Prior to that, Thursby was an associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
