Morrison & Foerster brought on Hogene Choi as a partner in its patent strategy and prosecution group. Choi, who deepens the firm’s expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, technical software engineering and data analytics, was Baker Botts’ patent prosecution co-chairwoman.

Dechert continues to expand in California with new members of its global litigation practice in San Francisco. Hartley West joins the firm from Kobre Kim. West also served as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, including a stint as deputy chief of its Economic Crimes and Securities Fraud Section. Corporate governance litigator Rick Horvath comes to the firm from Paul Hastings. Horvath represents boards of directors, investors and public companies. Dechert litigation partner Joshua Hess and corporate partner Jonathan Stott have relocated to the firm’s  San Francisco office from Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, respectively.
