BraunHagey & Borden and UCLA Law Clinics filed a civil rights lawsuit Thursday in California Southern District Court against Management and Training Corp., operator of the private prison Imperial Regional Detention Facility. The complaint was brought by Braunhagey & Borden on behalf of Carlos Murillo Vega, a U.S. citizen who contends he was held in solitary confinement by the defendant on behalf of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for 14 months. Murillo seeks to hold the defendant liable for his pain and suffering. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 3:21-cv-01770, Vega v. Management and Training Corporation.
