A judge has dismissed federal claims against two Orange County Superior Court judges accused of misconduct as deputy district attorneys, ruling the jurists are entitled to prosecutorial immunity.

Other claims brought over a botched 12-year criminal case will be allowed to proceed, including evidence fabrication and conspiracy claims against two California Highway Patrol employees, but the case against Judges Larry Yellin and Michael Murray was gutted Thursday through a ruling by U.S. District Judge Josephine Staton of the Central District of California, though the judge made clear she wasn’t saying they’d committed no wrongdoing.
