The leadership bids for the proposed class actions over the Orange County oil spill now include one from a former federal judge wanting to team with an attorney who already has submitted a separate proposal.

Stephen Larson of Larson LLP—who served as a district judge for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California from 2006 to 2009—acknowledges in his motion that Wylie Aitken of Aitken Aitken Cohn has already applied to be interim class counsel with another firm but said partnership with him instead “will yield tremendous dividends for the putative classes.”
