A bankruptcy judge has allowed Chicago-based Edelson PC to pursue its embezzlement lawsuit against Erika Girardi, the estranged wife of Tom Girardi.

At a brief hearing Tuesday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Barry Russell of the Central District of California said he would not impose a bankruptcy stay on claims against Erika Girardi, who, unlike her husband and his firm, Girardi Keese, hasn’t filed for Chapter 7.
