The legal community was in mourning this weekend after the death of Sarah Weddington, the lawyer who successfully argued Roe v. Wade before the U.S. Supreme Court, a precedent that is before the justices this term.

At 26, Weddington was the youngest person to argue before the high court, helping establish a precedent that ensured women had the right to obtain an abortion. Weddington had also never tried a case before making her debut before the justices.
