California’s judicial discipline agency has launched an inquiry into an Orange County judge accused of withholding exculpatory evidence in a homicide case he prosecuted as a then-deputy district attorney.

Superior Court Judge Michael Murray could be removed from the bench if the Commission on Judicial Performance sustains disciplinary charges that he failed to disclose information that a California Highway Patrol sergeant altered a traffic accident report. That report led to the conviction of Long Beach resident Cole Wilkins.
