The second shoe has dropped on VLSI Technology LLC’s $2.175 billion patent infringement verdict.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board instituted trial proceedings Wednesday on the second patent that supports VLSI’s mammoth March 2021 verdict against Intel Corp. in U.S. District Judge Alan Albright’s Western District of Texas courtroom.
