Thomas F. Burke of Ballard Spahr has entered an appearance for Leif Technologies Inc., an education finance platform, in a pending lawsuit. The suit, filed Dec. 16 in California Central District Court by Sequoia Law Firm on behalf of Justin Chi, contends that 10-week online tech sales provider Elevate falsely advertises its programs as job applications to lure students into their programs. The suit further contends that Leif and Elevate significantly profit from excessive income share agreements offered to students that require students to pay a total of $17,000 over several years. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer, is 2:21-cv-09738, Justin Chi v. Top Applicant, Inc. et al.
