Uber was hit with a consumer class action Friday in California Northern District Court over the app's 'upfront pricing' feature. The lawsuit, brought by Reese LLP on behalf of customers in Pennsylvania and Illinois, accuses Uber of using a 'bait-and-switch" scheme in which riders are charged prices that are higher than those initially quoted. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 3:22-cv-00596, Reed et al v. Uber Technologies Inc.
