An Orange County judge accused of withholding evidence in a homicide case when he was a prosecutor said he never learned that a key document had been altered until years after a Long Beach man was convicted of murder.
In a response filed this week with the Commission on Judicial Performance, Superior Court Judge Michael Murray denied allegations that he knew a California Highway Patrol sergeant changed a traffic report to blame a fleeing driver for a highway crash that killed an off-duty sheriff's deputy.
