Willkie Farr & Gallagher expanded its corporate and intellectual property expertise with lateral partners in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Former Cooley partner Ray LaSoya joined Willkie's corporate and financial services department. LA-based LaSoya is a member of the firm's private equity practice group. The partner has advised private equity investors and their portfolio companies, as well as public and private companies, in complex transactions and day-to-day legal affairs in a number of industries, including communications, media, entertainment, technology, retail, legal services, financial services and manufacturing.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
