Debevoise & Plimpton is pulling the trigger on its first lateral addition—a former director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission—as the firm approaches the one-year anniversary of its newest office in San Francisco.

On Tuesday, the firm said it added Kristin Snyder, the former deputy director of the Examinations Division of the SEC, as a partner in its white-collar and regulatory defense group.
