A man charged in the 2020 murder of a security officer outside a U.S. courthouse in Oakland pleaded guilty to federal first-degree murder and attempted murder Friday.

Steven Carrillo, 33, entered the guilty plea in connection with a May 29, 2020 drive-by shooting at the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, that led to the death of David Patrick Underwood, a protective services officer, and wounded a second security contractor.
