Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday outlined previously promised legislation that he said will allow Californians to sue gun manufacturers in the same way Texans can pursue damages from abortion providers.
Flanked by Attorney General Rob Bonta and state lawmakers in San Diego, Newsom blasted as “absurd” U.S. Supreme Court rulings refusing to block a Texas law allowing citizens to privately enforce banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.
