DLA Piper filed a trademark infringement lawsuit Monday in California Northern District Court on behalf of BGC Inc., a non-profit founded to advance equal representation for Black women in the technology sector. The complaint accuses Black Girls Code Inc. and Rauhmel Fox Robinson of deceptively recruiting volunteers and soliciting donations by falsely representing to consumers that the defendant is affiliated with BGC. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 4:22-cv-01582, Bgc Inc. v. Robinson et al.
