The U.S. Senate on Thursday confirmed two new judges to California’s federal courts, giving lifetime appointments to a veteran U.S. magistrate judge with a Big Law background and an Orange County Superior Court judge who is a former federal prosecutor.

Senators voted 63 to 36 for Jacqueline Scott Corley in the Northern District and 57 to 41 for Fred Wallace Slaughter in the Central District.
