The University of California, Los Angeles, has agreed to pay $374.4 million to more than 300 women with sexual abuse lawsuits against a former campus gynecologist.

Tuesday’s settlement is the latest involving Dr. James Heaps, who was the campus gynecologist from 1983 to 2018. Including Tuesday’s settlement, UCLA has agreed to pay a total of nearly $700 million to resolve lawsuits and claims brought over Heaps.
