Paul Hastings has made headlines more than once over the last few weeks for bringing on an impactful lateral group from a competitor, especially in the financial services space. In April, the firm lured a 43-person restructuring team from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. In May, the firm picked up a three-partner energy transition group from Shearman & Sterling. Earlier this month, a team from specialist financial services firm Buckley arrived.

It hasn’t just been groups, although those moves tend to get more attention. Last October,  Allyson Baker from Venable came to the firm to head its Consumer Financial Protection Bureau practice in Washington, D.C.
