Michael Avenatti wants to plead guilty to some of the charges in his 36-count indictment, requesting in a filing on Sunday a status conference and saying he intends to request sentencing.

The notice to Senior U.S. District Judge James V. Selna said Avenatti and prosecutors don’t have a deal, despite a year of negotiations that included “substantial efforts made in the last 30 days.”
