The State Bar of California is investigating two former Girardi Keese partners who worked with Tom Girardi on lawsuits brought over the Lion Air crash, according to a new filing in that litigation.

In a July 15 motion, Chicago-based Edelson PC, which served as local counsel with Girardi Keese on the Lion Air cases, asked a federal judge to modify a confidential order to allow California’s bar “and any other state bar” access to exhibits that were filed as part of a sanctions hearing held last year involving David Lira and Keith Griffin, both of whom left Los Angeles-based Girardi Keese in 2020.
