Corporate activity has continued at a slower pace this summer, with only a few deals over $1 billion in the last week and a lack of new SPACs or SPAC mergers.

Weighing on the minds of many dealmakers now is the fact that a full third of the S&P 500 will be reporting earnings in the next several days, with some of those projections expected to be anything but rosy.
