A U.K. graphic designer is accusing digital design marketplace Zazzle Inc. of helping itself to her premium handwriting-style fonts and selling them to designers around the world for millions in profits.

A Bartko Zankel Bunzel & Miller team led by partner Patrick Ryan accuses Zazzle of buying a “single seat” license to Nicky Laatz’s Blooming Elegant font, meant to be used by a single user. But Zazzle allegedly has made it available to tens of millions of designers on its website. They in turn have allegedly used Blooming Elegant to inscribe everything from business cards to wedding invitations to COVID face masks.
