JAMS, a private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, announced the addition of Sukhsimran Singh to its panel. Singh's career in mediation is built upon the foundation of using peaceful methods to resolve difficult conflicts. Singh has resolved hundreds of domestic, international and cross-border mediations. He practices in a variety of areas and has successfully mediated large, complex cases, including one valued at over $100 million. Based in the Century City Resolution Center, Singh will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and neutral evaluator, handling complex public policy conflicts, business and commercial, employment, family law, higher education and Title IX, personal injury and torts and real estate and real property disputes.
Covington has promoted 14 lawyers to its partnership, four of which are in the firm's California offices. Lindsey Barnhart of the Palo Alto office focuses on complex class actions and commercial litigation. Zak Megeed of the San Francisco office advises life sciences companies in complex collaborations and other strategic transactional matters spanning the full range of discovery, development and commercialization activities. Brandon Palmen of the Palo Alto office advises clients on their commercial and intellectual property transactions, drafting and negotiating agreements with key customers, suppliers, and technology development partners, complex data and intellectual property license agreements, and agreements associated with technology-focused mergers, acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and spinoffs. Christen Sewell of the Los Angeles office counsels private and public companies and executives on all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation, with a particular focus on benefits issues for start-ups and emerging growth companies.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
