Alicia Fenrick, an in-house leader for autonomous vehicle company Cruise, is being recognized as one of 20 Women Leaders in Tech Law as part of The Recorder’s California Legal Awards.

The associate general counsel, who leads the enterprise safety, regulatory and compliance team, secured the regulatory permits needed for Cruise to be the first autonomous vehicle company to legally operate its driverless vehicle fleet on public roads in a major U.S. city, according to the company. Fenrick also established Cruise’s Safety Council, a cross-functional team that assess safety risks. She also instituted a safety reporting framework for any employee to raise a safety concern.
