California needs almost 100 new judicial positions to handle the existing caseload in its trial courts, with more than half of that need coming from the Inland Empire, according to a report released Tuesday by the Judicial Council.
The biennial analysis, sent to the Legislature, concluded as it has in previous years that the growth in filings in Riverside and San Bernardino counties in particular has outpaced what the existing number of bench officers there can oversee.
