A federal judge in San Francisco said he would preliminarily approve a $255 million class action settlement between Juul Labs Inc. and its customers.

U.S. District Judge William Orrick III, whom last year certified four classes of Juul customers suing under the U.S. Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and various fraud statutes and consumer laws, approved the deal at a hearing on Friday.
