Bus-Transportation Startup Snags Ex-Apple, Tesla Attorney as GC
Lynn Miller is taking the legal reins of Redwood City, California-Zum, which had a valuation just shy of $1 billion in 2021, when it last raised funding.

Lynn Miller, a former senior attorney at Apple and Tesla, has joined school-transportation startup Zum as general counsel.
Redwood City, California-based Zum, which launched in 2014 and has raised $208 million in funding, bills itself as connecting parents and students with schools and drivers with transparency, flexibility and real-time information. The company had a $930 million valuation as of its last funding round, in 2021.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
