Covington & Burling hired a senior White House environmental official to lead its newly formed carbon management and climate mitigation practice, which aims to help clients achieve their emission reduction and net-zero targets.

Jayni Hein, a senior director for Clean Energy, Infrastructure and the National Environmental Policy Act at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, joined the firm as of counsel and co-chair of the new practice group, based in San Francisco.
