The Regents of the University of California was slapped with a trade secret lawsuit on June 29 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County in relation to cannabinoid-based formulations for medical ailments. The court action, brought by Dapeer, Rosenblit & Litvak on behalf of Altopa Inc., accuses the defendant of using wrongfully obtained trade secrets that were misappropriated by an Altopa investor and director. According to the complaint, the defendant knew, or should have known, that the director did not have the right or authority to disclose the trade secrets to it or to anyone without the express permission of Altopa.
