Nordstrom, Target, The Gap, Hugo Boss Fashions and other defendants were slapped with a consumer lawsuit on Aug. 14 in California Superior Court for San Francisco County for claims under the California Organic Food and Farming Act. The court action, brought by the Lexington Law Group on behalf of the Environmental Democracy Project, contends that the defendants falsely advertise certain textile products as being organic despite not meeting minimum organic content standards.
