Brietta Clark has been named the 19th dean of Loyola Marymount University Loyola Law School—the first woman and the first Black person to lead the law school.

Clark has been serving as interim dean since July after Michael Waterstone, who was dean for seven years, left to become dean of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law on Aug. 15.
