Global tech giant Google agreed to a $700 million settlement Monday for claims that it engaged in anticompetitive practices to insulate its app store, known as the Google Play Store, from Android competition.

The multistate antitrust lawsuit against the company began in July 2021, when 36 attorneys general accused Google of forming an unlawful monopoly for app distribution and in-app-payment services market.
