Kicking off hiring in the new year, K&L Gates, Baker McKenzie and Steptoe have all made additions to their attorney ranks in Washington, D.C., this week, boasting of growth in antitrust, financial services and trade groups, among other practices.

Meanwhile, several law firms announced new attorney hires from the government this week, including two that brought on former top state officials and a Big Law firm that recruited from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
