- A nonprofit group run by scientists promoting public health said the amount in Cheerios products exceeds the daily recommended limit of the pesticide, the complaint said.
- Multiple varieties of the oat-based cereal contained the pesticide in laboratory testing, including: regular Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Frosted Cheerios, and Oat Crunch Oats N' Honey Cheerios.
A San Marcos, California, couple filed a class action complaint in federal court Feb. 23 alleging laboratory testing revealed multiple varieties of Cheerios have dangerously high levels of the pesticide chlormequat chloride, which can reduce fertility if ingested.
