The Commission on Judicial Performance on Tuesday censured two trial court judges, disciplining one for her first time and ending the other’s career.

As part of a stipulated agreement with the commission, Humboldt County Superior Court Judge Gregory Kreis resigned on Monday and consented to never seek judicial office again. The decision ends a seven-year tenure on the bench for Kreis, who had been serving out his final months as a Humboldt County judge. Voters in March elected his re-election challenger, April Van Dyke.
