Alston & Bird strengthened its intellectual property litigation practice nationally while adding someone who fits with the firm’s collaborative culture when Erik Carlson joined as a partner in Los Angeles from Baker & Hostetler this week, a firm leader said.

Carlson is the second IP litigation partner to join the firm this year in L.A. after Theresa Conduah joined as a partner from Haynes and Boone in January. Alston has about 65 IP litigation lawyers firmwide and eight in L.A., with clients including the Nokia Corp. and Universal Electronics in recent years, according to information from the firm.
