"I'm not thrilled with the prospect of increasing my own fees," said Assemblymember Ash Kalra, D-San Jose, "but the reality is that if we don't approve this measure today, the state Supreme Court will be forced to set the licensing fees."

LegislationState legislators have agreed to raise annual licensing fees for active lawyers by $88, bringing the total bill to $553 in 2025.
